Andrea Norgate started staff nursing in 1990 at the Toronto General Hospital. She took on the transplant clinical coordinator role in 1994 initially with the lung program and moved to liver transplant in 1999. In 2003 she joined the kidney/pancreas and islet cell transplant team as clinical coordinator and diabetes educator. She assumed the vascular composite allograft and intestinal clinical coordinator role at Toronto General in 2010. She holds a teaching position directing the Canadian Emergency Nursing Certificate, and continues part time as a staff nurse at Guelph General Hospital Emergency Room. Andrea served as the Chair of the Canadian Transplant Society’s Allied Health Professionals. Her current board positions include the disciplinary committee for the College of Nurses of Ontario and the Canadian Disaster Relief Foundation. She specializes in field strategies post natural disaster events and volunteers locally at the Salvation Army Men’s shelter.
